Halloween is less than one week away! That means costumes, haunted houses, scary movie marathons, and, of course, candy! Lots and lots of candy.
Why not skip the store-bought candy this year and make your own? Even if it’s full of sugar and butter, if you choose wholesome, quality ingredients, homemade candy can have a lot less preservatives and junk in it.
Or, why not try out some healthier candy and Halloween treat recipes?
You’ll find all that and more in my round-up of 30 Frightfully Tasty Halloween Spirits, Treats, & Hors D’oeuvrs Recipes. They’re to-die-for. Mwuahahaha!

All of these recipes are a great source of ideas from which to adapt to suit your own tastes and diet. Even for the more “sinful” of these recipes, you can make your own substitutions and changes to healthify them. For instance, all the spooky and cute deviled egg ideas – there are a gazillion recipes out there for healthier deviled eggs. Use one of the recipes for healthy deviled eggs with the idea behind one of these recipes and voila, you’ve got a healthy Halloween hors d’oeuvr! Or, simplify some of the recipes. Turn the pimento cheese pumpernickel bat sandwiches into PB+J bat sandwiches. Same cute bat-shaped sandwiches, but a lot cheaper and simpler to make
.
Have fun with it and don’t forget, indulging every once in a while is not only okay, but healthy
.
You can find all of these featured recipes and more on my Fall / Autumn Pinterest Board.
Have a spooktacularly delicious and fun Halloween,
