Why not skip the store-bought candy this year and make your own? Even if it’s full of sugar and butter, if you choose wholesome, quality ingredients, homemade candy can have a lot less preservatives and junk in it. Or, why not try out some healthier candy and Halloween treat recipes?

For instance, all the spooky and cute deviled egg ideas – there are a gazillion recipes out there for healthier deviled eggs. Use one of the recipes for healthy deviled eggs with the idea behind one of these recipes and voila, you’ve got a healthy Halloween hors d’oeuvr! Or, simplify some of the recipes. Turn the pimento cheese pumpernickel bat sandwiches into PB+J bat sandwiches. Same cute bat-shaped sandwiches, but a lot cheaper and simpler to make .
Have fun with it and don’t forget, indulging every once in a while is not only okay, but healthy .
